Where do i get a toy poodle
ok, ive decided to get a toy poodle, but do not know where to look. l live
in the east bay area of san francisco and l would buy or adopt one.... if
l knew a shelter or a hobby breeder around here. Thanks in
advance Xx oh l would NEVER buy from a puppy mill. do not worry about
that!
Please do not get one from a puppy mill. I helped rescue dogs
from a cupple puppy mills and they over breed their dogs and don't take
care of them, interbreed them that makes for a week and sick puppy. Look
in the AKC breeder list.

Look in your local newspaper. That is where i found my dog.
Go to the AKC website to see if you can find a reputable
breeder.
Ask ur vets if they know of reputable breeders.
Find others in ur area who own them & see who they got them from.
You can also do a search for a rescue at http://petfinder.com Just be specific as to what you want. Breed, Age, sex, & pop on ur zip code & it will give you a list of the nearest rescued poodles. That is how I got my Bichon Yoshi. Avoid pet stores, those who sell in Newspapers unless they are well known & have a good reputation, (Many MANY newspaper sellers are irreputable breeders or irresponsible Back yard breeders. Very few reputable breeders will advertise in the papers because they are VERY Picky at who adopts their pups. Some may. but mostly as a rule they dont), & definately avoid anyone who has several different breeds & mixed breeds for sale at one time. That is a red flag for puppy mill.
